Who We Are

Faith & Environment Network Mission Statement

The Faith and Environment Network engages people of faith in caring for Creation.

Who We Are

Our Network of Faith and Environmental leaders fosters a love for creation and stewardship among people of faith in the Inland Northwest.  We share sustainability resources, ideas, and experiences to help faith communities heal and  protect the earth and all its creatures.   We are a 501c3 non-profit organization run by an all-volunteer board of directors and other volunteers from the community.

Our Story

The Faith and Environment Network was formed in 2005 by a group of friends with a passion for exploring and protecting nature and a reverence for nature’s Creator.  From their own experiences they knew that people of faith have a desire to care for Creation.  They also believed that with encouragement and support, congregations in Spokane could become active stewards of Creation.  With the initial support of Conservation Northwest, the Interfaith Council, and Salem Lutheran Church, we began organizing events with an enthusiastic response from congregations.

Today, the Network consists of a Board of Directors representing a diverse cross-section of faith communities and environmental organizations in Spokane.  The mission of The Faith and Environment Network continues to match our original vision as we bring together congregations and conservation organizations throughout the Inland Northwest to help heal and protect the Earth and all its creatures.
